About Hostel Vista Serena

Hostel Vista Serena is the first hostel in Manuel Antonio designed for young people. We are recommended by the Lonely Planet guide and the Hostelling International. Set on a mountain, surrounded by jungle, with awesome views of the Pacific Ocean, the hostel is the perfect place to experience the peace of paradise and the thrill of local attractions.

Our hostel is specially designed for foreign visitors. You get the rainforest and Costa Rica's most beautiful beach, and still have all of the comforts of home.

We run a small, secluded hostel, and offer personalized services to our guests. Our goal is to cater to the individual - with a little Costa Rican touch!

Schedulesvary, so it's best toinquire with the buscompany (tel.777-02-63).There are other privatebuses that traveldirectly from San Jose toManuel Antonio, and theyare: Saragundi SpecialtyTours or American VIPCoach Service. The optionby air is also available,since the local airlineSANSA offers regularflights there.

About Backpackers Manuel Antonio

Wake up with the birds and watch the monkeys play at our new and improved Backpackers.

Backpackers MA is a family owned and operated hostel. We keep a clean kitchen, with new amenities. We offer a communal entertainment room equipped with a television, DVD player, and more than 70 DVD?s to choose from which range from Disney classics such as ?Cool Runnings? to action films like ?Total Recall?. And if that isn?t enough for you we even have a brand new fussball table and free internet service with a very fast wireless connection for your enjoyment. We also sell various snacks and beverages for those late night munchies! Also, if you intend on taking one of the marvelous tours that Manuel Antonio has to offer (snorkeling, diving, canopy, sunset cruises, ATV, river rafting, kayaking and much more) we will provide you with all information and would be happy to book any tour you want.

We are located right in the middle of Manuel Antonio. Within walking distance there are shops, a super market, an pizzeria and many fine dinning as well as moderately priced restaurants, oh, and some great bars! If you have your sights set on visiting the beautiful Manuel Antonio National park it?s only a five minute car or bus ride away. The busses run regularly every thirty minutes from Quepos to the beach at Manuel Antonio and vice versa, with a bus stop literally in front of our hostel.

We offer private rooms as well as shared dormitories. Our private rooms start at $30USD for 1-2 pp then increases by $10USD with each additional person. Our largest private room can fit up to 8 persons comfortably and a bed in our dorm rooms cost $9USD, the cheapest you?ll find in the area. We boast HOT water in each of our daily cleaned bathrooms. Our spacious patio is perfect for grilling out, (there?s an awesome butcher shop across the street), passing the time with new and old friends, listening to music on our new sound system, just relaxing by taking in the sights and sounds on one of our lazy hammocks or taking a swing on our new Tarzan swing. We have a private trail to one of the best views of the sunset over the beach that you'll love.

Comming to Quepos...

Travel to the area iseasy and can be done in anumber of different ways.Regularly scheduled airservice is availablethrough Sansa Airlines,the flight takes 20minutes. It is a threeand a half hour or more,drive by car or bus fromSan Jose depending on theweather and traffic.

Direct buses leave fromCoca Cola bus terminal inSan Jose three times aday. These are large,comfortable Mercedesbuses.

If you are renting a carit is advisable to rent a4X4 vehible becausecertain sections of theroad can be difficult.

If you are in Quepos..

Ok, now that you?vearrived in Quepos, youcan breathe a sigh ofrelief, you?re almosthere. All you need to donow is catch the localbus which runs from theQuepos bus station toManuel Antonio NationalPark every half hour. Thebus fare is 110 colones,about $0.35USD. Then,just keep your eyes openfor the Manuel AntonioFootball field. It?s apretty popular stop andwith the help of our mapit should be relativelyeasy to spot. Across thestreet you will see apharmacy and a doctor?soffice, we?re locatedbelow them. So, followthe arrow pointing downthe stairs to BackpackersManuel Antonio and thereyou are sure to begreeted by a smile and akind word of welcome.

Bus service betweenQuepos' main terminal andthe national park departsevery half hour from 5:00am. till 10:00 pm.
