Austin is known as the Live Music Capital of the World and HI-Austin has been a must visit hostel since 1989. Beautiful central Austin lake shore/park location only ten minutes to downtown. Located on the hike and bike trail around Town Lake. Free car parking plus bikes, canoes, internet access, laundry, kitchen, free University of TX Shuttle, city bus stop and more. Bed linens are included in the rate.

Rate shown is for non-members. HI members should present their current membership card and request the member discount at the front desk during check in.

No curfew, comfortable 24 hour lobby overlooks Town and Lake. Dormitories open 5pm-11am (17:00hr-->11:00hr). Kitchen open during day too. Central air conditioning and heat for your comfort.

Group reservations of more than 10 total beds require 50% hostel deposit and minimum one week cancellation notice.

DIRECTIONS

HI-Austin is located 2 miles (3km) from downtown Austin and the live music scene.
Hostel is on the south shore of Town Lake and East of Interstate 35. Lakeshore Blvd. runs between East Riverside and Pleasant Valley. If driving, take exit # 233 from I-35 and go east, then take first left on Lakeshore Blvd. City bus (Capitol Metro) available from Greyhound Bus Station(take Bus #7 Duval); Airport (Bus # 350/ACC transfer to # 26; Downtown Austin (Bus # 26 or # 27); University of Texas (LS or NR shuttle). Bus stops are 5-7 minute walk to hostel.
