The Mad Musher is located in Whitney, Ontario on the beautiful Madawaska River, just a couple of minutes from Algonquin Provincial Park which offers many opportunities for hiking, fishing, canoeing in the summer and x-country skiing, dog sledding and snow-shoeing in the winter.

Guided dog sledding trips are offered at the Mad Musher, with packages available that include, accommodations, meals and guided trips.

The restaurant and accommodations are non-smoking and air-conditioned. There is a pool table and dart boards in the restaurant for your use.

Guests have the choice of staying in private rooms with double beds or dormitory rooms. There are loads of amenities also to ensure you have a comfortable stay.

    Property Description
    Capitol City Hostel is the cheapest and maybe the capitol's cleanest hostel. We are a private, smoke-free hostel only for travelers with passports (USA or foriegn). We also accept environmentalist with pay stub, ISIC or university student ID holder with credit card.

    Accommodation is basic but with free 24 hour DSL internet and hot showers. We also have a laundry service ($5). We have no curfew or lock-out.

    We are located 25 blocks (2 miles) from the capitol building and national mall of memorials, monuments and first-quality and free of charge museums. We are also located 30 minutes away from the whitehouse during rush hour.

    The hostel is easily accessible, just 30 blocks east of the chinatown bus-lines or 22 blocks east of greyhound or amtrack.

    DIRECTIONS


    From chinatown/buslines- or- greyhound/amtrak/union station: find H street. Get an X2 metrobus (east ). Bus costs $1.25. Get a transfer so any metrobus trip in DC is now free for you, for the next 3-4 hours..even the return trip! Exit bus @ 2300 Benning Road (Poppies Fried Chicken). Walk 1/2 block east to 2411 Benning Road, and the hostel sign "Capitol City". We are next to the all-night chinese food "Kerry's".

    From airports: take metro(train) to either metro center or to chinatown/gallery place or to Union station --whichever is easiest from your respective airport, dulles, national, or bwi--and follow above directions. save $ . get a free subway to bus transfer (located in the subway system, near some escalators) so the X2 bus will then cost you only 35 cents instead of $1.25. yes, get the bus transfer too. you may want to use it later for a quick but free busride to chinatown and back.

    We are a Bed & Breakfast surrounded by green space in the middle of Washington, DC, located just over one mile from the U.S. Capitol Building. Our inn consists of two spacious early 1900’s Victorian townhouses.

    The beautifully renovated Inn, gracefully mixing the old with the new, features nine spacious guest rooms now with private TV (HBO & Showtime), telephones and T-1 access available, creating the perfect atmosphere to pamper and revive the traveller. Our guest rooms all have shared bath facilities. All rooms have one queen bed and are air-conditioned.

    Small friendly hostel located in Washington DC in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. The hostel is on 16th Street NW which is a major street that connects with the White House. Easy to get to all major sites by bus, Metro, or walking. The bus is right outside the door and runs every few minutes.

    The hostel has a kitchen so you can cook. There is Internet access, cable TV in the common room. No curfew. You will have your own key so you can come and go as you please. We provide for free in the morning bread, jam, juice, milk, and tea. The hostel has air conditioning.

    Reception is open from 8:00am until 11:00pm. There is a backyard for people to hang out. There is free pick up for those who arrive at either the Greyhound Bus Station or Amtrak at Union Station.

    DIRECTIONS


    From Greyhound Bus Station: Exit the station on 1st Street NE by making a left and walk up to Union Station. Enter Metro area. Once inside Metro you will be able to get a bus transfer ticket from the machine that is free. Take the Metro from Union Station and transfer at the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro stop to the Green Line going north towards Greenbelt. Travel the Green Line 4 stops and get off at Columbia Heights Metro stop. You come out on 14th Street NW and Irving Street NW. Walk down Irving Street NW going went which is also walking against the direction of the traffic, because Irving Street is a one way street, and go to 16th Street NW. The walk is about 200 meters. You can catch bus S1 or S2 or S4 going north of 16th Street. With the transfer ticket you got back at the start of the Metro the bus will be 35 cents. You get off at the 4th bus stop which is right outside the Zion Church. The hostel is right across the street.

    From Union Station at Amtrak follow the directions above. Leave off the first part of Greyhound and the rest is the same.

    From Ronald Reagan National Airport you can take the Yellow Line which will lead you to the Metro stop at Gallery Place/Chinatown and transfer on the same level to the Green Line and get off at Columbia Heights and follow the directions written above from there.

    William Penn House is a Quaker (Religious Society of Friends) Hospitality and Seminar Center on Capitol Hill. The house is an historic row home in a residential setting.

    We are 5 blocks from the Capitol, and within walking distance of the museums and monuments. We have 28 beds which are in shared accommodations with 5 bathrooms and 7 showers. We provide a simple breakfast. The house is non-smoking and is alcohol and drug free. We have quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

    We host peace and social justice advocates and like minded visitors to the nation's Capitol. We welcome Friends, families, groups, gays and lesbians and visitors of all ages. The house is not handicap accessible.
