Property DescriptionCapitol City Hostel is the cheapest and maybe the capitol's cleanest hostel. We are a private, smoke-free hostel only for travelers with passports (USA or foriegn). We also accept environmentalist with pay stub, ISIC or university student ID holder with credit card. Accommodation is basic but with free 24 hour DSL internet and hot showers. We also have a laundry service ($5). We have no curfew or lock-out. We are located 25 blocks (2 miles) from the capitol building and national mall of memorials, monuments and first-quality and free of charge museums. We are also located 30 minutes away from the whitehouse during rush hour. The hostel is easily accessible, just 30 blocks east of the chinatown bus-lines or 22 blocks east of greyhound or amtrack.  |

ADDRESSCapitol City Hostel 2411 Benning Road NE Washington DC, USA DIRECTIONSFrom chinatown/buslines- or- greyhound/amtrak/union station: find H street. Get an X2 metrobus (east ). Bus costs $1.25. Get a transfer so any metrobus trip in DC is now free for you, for the next 3-4 hours..even the return trip! Exit bus @ 2300 Benning Road (Poppies Fried Chicken). Walk 1/2 block east to 2411 Benning Road, and the hostel sign "Capitol City". We are next to the all-night chinese food "Kerry's". From airports: take metro(train) to either metro center or to chinatown/gallery place or to Union station --whichever is easiest from your respective airport, dulles, national, or bwi--and follow above directions. save $ . get a free subway to bus transfer (located in the subway system, near some escalators) so the X2 bus will then cost you only 35 cents instead of $1.25. yes, get the bus transfer too. you may want to use it later for a quick but free busride to chinatown and back. |
