Property Description

This is Portland's most centrally located hostel. From our location you can walk to the city centre, the Amtrak/Greyhound station, Washington Park (Oregon Zoo), museums, downtown, Chinatown and more. IF THERE IS NO AVAILABILITY PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL TO CHECK FOR CANCELLATIONS.

We are located in the heart of Portland's popular Northwest Nob Hill neighbourhood. Cafés, shops, brew pubs, theatres, galleries, and nightlife create a happening and historic district. Just one block away is the Mission Brew Pub theatre ($2-3 movies). And a short walk to Forest Park, the country's largest natural park.

The hostel is housed in a restored turn-of-the-century historic building and has an on-site coffee bar. It is clean and cozy and just 3 blocks to Portland's fareless zone: all buses, trams, and street cars are free. The hostel features a free phone for local calls, free wireless internet for laptops, free on street parking, and free pastries, bread and bagels.

Helpful and friendly staff offer great information on things to see and do, and we provide free maps. Our information boards are updated every week. Van tours can be booked to Mt. St. Helens Volcano, Columbia River Gorge, Cascade Mountains, the Oregon Coast, and hot springs. Or ask for our self-guided itineraries. During the summer months there are free weekly summer music concerts in neighbouring parks.

Notes on rates: rates quoted on this website are H.I. member rates. Non-members may join on arrival or pay $3 extra per night, per person. Lodging tax of 12.5% will be added to all overnight fees on arrival.

DIRECTIONS

From Airport: Take red line MAX train to PGE Park, walk north on 18th Avenue 6 blocks to Glisan Street.

From Train or Bus: walk south 1 block, then right on Glisan, 12 blocks to hostel (10 minutes) or ride #17 bus free by exiting at 15th & Glisan and walking 3 blocks west.

From South: Take I-405 (exit 299B), exit on Everett St., left on Glisan St., 3 blocks to hostel.

From North: Take I-405 (exit 302B), exit on Everett St., follow signs around block to Glisan, hostel is 3 blocks, on left.
