Property DescriptionMaleku Hostel is the best place to begin and finish your trip. Located just 3 minutes away from the International Airport of San José which is actually located in Alajuela. With public transportation service available just a couple of blocks away from the hostel, there is no reason for you to go all the way to San José. All buses leaving San José to the beaches, volcanoes and mountains, or even to Nicaragua and Central America, stop in Alajuela, and the other way around. Alajuela is home of many tourist sites, including the Butterfly Farm, Poas Volcano, the Serpentarium and the Aviary…to name just a few. Also Restaurants, parks, churches and a large supermarket are located only one block away Our Hostel has bran new beds with orthopedic mattresses, neat pillows, sheets and towels. It has 2 private rooms with 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Also, 3 Dorm rooms that can be either private or shared with 6 single beds. The house has 2 shared bathrooms with hot showers, community kitchen, TV room, reading room, and benches outside. Our rates are really affordable and include a transfer service to the airport, homemade breakfast, lockers and free use of internet. We also provide tour information, maps, and pictures, rent a car, hostels and the best recommendations to make your trip enjoyable. Because we love traveling, we know what travelers need. By public bus: The buses stop in front of the airport (yellow or red bus). Take the buses going to Alajuela, tell the bus driver to stop you at the entrance of the new hospital of Alajuela (Parar en la entrada del Hospital nuevo de Alajuela). We are located 50 mts west from the main entrance of the NEW Hospital of Alajuela, hostel is in a corner. Bus Rate About $0.75. By public or Airport taxi: Public taxis color red, airport taxis color orange, tell the taxi driver to take you to: Maleku Hostel 50 mts oeste de la entrada principal del Hospital NUEVO de Alajuela, Casa esquinera. Rate about $4. Note: If you take a taxi to get here, the taxi drivers will try to take you to a different Hotel or Hostel, they will always tell you that we are full or close. Don't believe them, change taxi or give us a call. If you take a red cab, always ask to set up 'La maria' (Poner 'la Maria' por favor ). That way you will know how much is the ride and they won't charge you more. |
