Located in a recently refitted, colonial building and fashioned with an eye on Mayan design, Mayan Backpackers is the newest and best equipped hostel in Merida.

Set around a peaceful courtyard - complete with bar, swimming pool, hammocks and a bbq area – Mayan Backpackers is a great place to relax, meet other travelers, and the perfect gateway to the wonders of the Yucatan.

Choose from our range of dormitories and private rooms - all with fans and linen provided. We provide our guests with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area with cable TV, Internet access and plenty of shaded space with tables and chairs to socialize, catch up on a diary entry or write a postcard or two.

With English, Italian and (obviously) Spanish spoken fluently, the friendly staff at Mayan Backpackers can help you with any queries you may have. Whether it be finding a cool bar or a place to sample a little local cuisine – or for those looking for a little adventure some cenote (cave) swimming or scuba diving – the staff at Mayan Backpackers are here to help.
