To give you an Idea of how much I have traveled; I shall just say that for fifteen and a half years, from 1970 to 1986 I was married to a IATA travel agent, so she had 90% and I had 75% discount on our airline tickets. I am the owner of the home in Merida that bears no name. I speak English quiite well, some French, a little Italian and a few words in many other languages. I am always available if you need me.So I know exactly how to please you with a safe, cool, comfortable and ecological place in a fun area.. It is AN AUTHENTIC COLONIAL house, which was home to my ancestors for many generations. We are THE BEST LOCATED HOSTEL IN MERIDA according to The English Publication 'Hidden Magazine' All of our rooms have at least a full size bed, a twin bed and a private bath with hot water. They all are spacey enough to allow us to comfortably add an extra bed when needed. Some have a large private terrace. We have large private rooms for 2 to 6 people and larger dorms with their own integrated bathrooms and capacities up to 12 We have solar-butane water heaters so the sun heats the water and not the building. The air intakes to our dorms pass though mini gardens of 'Galanes de noche'; these are exotic tropical plants whose flowers emit a super healthy night perfume. This together with taking advantage of the architectonic properties of the building and proper management of air circulation allows certain control of the inside temperature giving us a unique ecological air conditioning system. You do not need to spend a lot to be able to sleep comfortably and away from the local heat. Nameless Place is the perfect location for your visit to Merida, Check in time. 6.00AM to 23.00 hrs. We offer a free continental breakfast, very low prices and a great atmosphere. Fortunately, while on a journey; I learned from a very wise elderly Chinese man that the word crisis, in the language of the Mandarin-Chinese also carries the concept of opportunity. In view of this and to honor the teachings of the men from Chung Wa: I have I have extensively searched the Internet and reviewed it to the best of my ability for any complaints or negative reviews on or about our hostel.. I have taken and shall systematically keep on taking all the necessary steps to correct any deficiencies that have arisen or that may arise in the future. Also for the next calendar year. upon your checking in for a dorm bed, shoot the dice, if you get the same number as that of the month, you get ............ AN ADDITIONAL NIGHT FREE. From January to June, you get one chance with one dice. In July and August you get it free, if your birth date falls on that month.n Sept shoot a pair dice once, in October, twice. In November, thrice, and 4 times in December. Also If I am not at the hostel I shall always carry my cel-phone and the hostel will put you in direct contact with me any time 24/7. ADDRESSNameless Place Calle 57 num 495 X58Y60 Merida, Mexico DIRECTIONSJust locate the ZOCALO (PLAZA MAYOR or Main Square). As you stand on 60th Street (Main Street) facing the Cathedral walk 2 blocks north (to your left) to 57th street. You will be at the corner of 60th and 57th. You will see the 'CASA DEL BALAM HOTEL'. We are next door to it on 57th and have a yellow sign that only reads 'HOSTEL'. Finding the 'ZOCALO' from the main bus stations (CAME and 2nd class): Stand at the corner of 69th and 70th Streets. It's the corner to your left as you exit from any of them. Walk northward (away from the stations) on 70th for 3 blocks to 63rd. Turn right on 63rd walk 4 blocks and you are there. Cross the square diagonally and you will be standing in front of the cathedral. (By the way you can buy bus tickets at the main square and avoid long lines at the bus station). You can also catch a cab in front of these stations. The authorized tariff as of Dec. 2005 is of 30 Pesos (under U.S. $3). The driver may try to charge you more or try to steer you away to another place saying that we are closed or otherwise. If you want to save a few pesos, walk to your left, to the corner of El Español hotel there you can catch a TAXIMETRO cab ( that is any color exept white with a red stripe) these will charge you about 10 or 12-.. From the Airport: For only 4.50 Pesos (US $0.40) you can take a bus right in front of the terminal it will say '69 AEROPUERTO'. Take it all the way to its terminal. As you exit the bus walk right to the corner of 62nd street. Turn left on 62nd and walk 2 blocks to the ZOCALO. Cross it diagonally and you will be in front of the Cathedral. There is a shared cab service office just outside the terminal on the left side as you exit. Be sure to get your ticket at this office to avoid been cheated. |
