Property DescriptionOctober 1, 2005 - We are open for business! St. Vincent's is again up and running in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Please book with confidence knowing that the guesthouse is fine and all the power, gas, water, etc, is up and running. All the historic New Orleans districts that you will want to visit are all fine - no flooding occured in these areas. New Orleans is waiting for you - come and do your bit for the New Orleans recovery by visiting our beautiful city again. Historical, beautiful and affordable! This is a charming garden district gem located on hip Magazine Street, just a 10 minute walk from the Quarter or a 5 min bus ride. There are 75 pretty, private rooms with white wicker furnishings, handmade quilts and all bed types. All rooms have private bath, air conditioning, phones and TV. Free high speed wireless internet access. Elevator. Full Southern breakfast is served daily and is available for $5 per person, (or a coffee shop is right next door). Cable TV in the sitting room. There is a landscaped courtyard, swimming pool and wraparound balconies to complete the relaxing New Orleans ambiance. Free on site parking is available and the internet can be accessed in the sitting room (common room) for those of you with laptops. German and English is spoken. NOTE: PRICE IS PER PERSON AND TAX IS NOT INCLUDED. NOTE THAT WE CHARGE A ONE NIGHT DEPOSIT TO YOUR CARD ADDITIONAL TO THE 10% DEPOSIT CHARGED BY HOSTELWORLD. If you are driving, directions to St. Vincent's (1507 Magazine Street) from the I-10 interstate from either east or west are: 1. Exit at Business 90 Westbank 2. Take Carondelet/St. Charles Ave exit and go straight 3. Turn right at Magazine Street 4. St. Vincent's is on the right hand side of Magazine Street and the corner of Race Street. Catch the Magazine Street bus from Canal Street and get off at Race Street, or catch the St. Charles Ave street car and get off at Felicity Street (near Walgreens) and walk the four blocks across to Magazine Street and St. Vincents. |
