Property Description

Surf City Hostel opened in 1996 in Hermosa Beach, California, and is located about 20 minutes drive south of LAX Airport in one of the best areas of Los Angeles.

The hostel provides shared room (dorm) and private room accommodation to travellers from all over the world.

Some of the things which make us popular with guests include our location on the beach, the fact that we are the safest hostel in Los Angeles, the bars, nightclubs, restaurants within walking distance, our proximity to public transportation, supermarkets and cinemas and much more. And the fact that there is so much to see and do every day!

There is 24 access to our washing machine and tumble dryers, our fully equipped kitchen, the library of travel guides for the USA and other countries around the world.

As well all that you will enjoy our regular parties at the hostel and our knowledgeable and friendly international staff are always here to help.

Also, we provide free tea and coffee all day, free maps, free videos that you can watch in our TV lounge and free body boards on loan.

If you wish to rent out a car this is the place to do so as we can get discounted car rentals, but if you wish to see the city under someone else's guidance we have the best city tour in Los Angeles.

DIRECTIONS

From Los Angeles Airport (LAX)
Take shuttle C to the bus terminal. Then take bus number 439 south. Get off at 11th Street and Hermosa Ave. Walk 1/2 block north on Hermosa Ave. Turn left (West) on Pier Ave. towards the beach. (Don't forget - free pickup from the airport between 8am and 8pm - just call us).

From Amtrack Train Station (Union Station)
Take bus number 439 south. Get off at 11th Street and Hermosa Ave. Walk 1/2 block north on Hermosa Ave. Turn left (West) on Pier Ave. towards the beach.

From Greyhound Bus Station (Downtown LA)
Walk to 7th Avenue. Take bus number 60. Get off at Long Beach Blvd. and Artesia Blvd. Transfer to bus number 130 going west. Get off at corner of Hermosa Ave. and Pier Ave. Walk west on Pier Ave. towards the beach.

Note: Bus drivers are generally helpful. Just ask them to drop you off at the above bus stops.
