Property Description

The Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort is 25 miles from Yosemite Valley. Located on a forested 50-acre hillside complex, the Bug is a relaxed and sociable get away.

In addition to the hostel kitchen, the lodge sports a restaurant that has a great reputation locally for value.

Our desk staff are well versed about activities and hikes in Yosemite Valley, Sequoia Groves and Tuolumne Meadows. The Merced Wild and Scenic Area is 3 miles away and features white-water in spring and great summer swimming.

Near the hostel itself is a large spring swimming hole and Mariposa Gold Town, 10 miles back.

    DIRECTIONS

The Yosemite Bug has its own bus stop at the end of our 1/4 mile road on Highway 140. Using Amtrak you can catch the Amtrak bus that runs from the connecting train into Yosemite Valley. This bus is part of the YARTS (Yosemite area region transit system) that has five busses stop en-route and return from Yosemite and Merced. We recommend booking Amtrak directly to Yosemite and hit us on the way in or out of the Park.

Greyhound still works well but there are layover times in its Merced Station of up the four hours for the YARTS busses.

We also sponsor California Parlor Car Tours who run directly from San Francisco for $90.00 roundtrip. This is slightly more than the above, but there are no stops and it is much quicker.
