Property DescriptionD Acres is an organic farm located in Dorchester, New Hampshire. The property is ideally situated for year round recreation and relaxation. Located within 5 miles of the Rumney Crag climbing, and within 10 miles of Tenney Mt. ski area, D Acres guests can hike, bike, snow shoe and cross-country ski for miles out the back door. This homestead provides services such as food, lodging and showers. Organic vegetarian food is also available. D Acres is a working farm where guests can tour and learn about the daily activities of the farm. Guests have the choice of sleeping in indoor accommodations or camping outdoors. We rent snowshoes and will guide forest walks and outdoor excursions. For the safety and sanity of flora, fauna, and farm animals, no pets are allowed! We provide a shuttle service from the bus and Amtrak train stations in White river Junction, VT ($20 one way) and a bus service to Plymouth, New Hampshire ($15 one way). The following is a description of each room listed. Please read carefully to determine which room meets your needs: twin private: The 'Green Room' (A private room in the Community Building with a double bed). 3 bed private: The 'Dorm Room' (A private room in Community Building with 3 single beds - 2 on the first floor and one in the loft above). 6 bed mixed dorm: The 'Yoga Room' (carpeted room in the Community Building, very pleasant, but no beds, plenty of room for sleeping bags. Can accommodate large groups (up to 12 people) of folks that want to sleep indoors). Note: the Community Building is a new state of the art building that serves as guest accommodations, community kitchen, classroom, plant nursery, craft studio, library and woodshop. The bedrooms in this building are quite comfortable. Guests share a separate bathroom with choice of shower or bath and composting toilets. Don't worry - we'll show you how they work! Allergic to cats? We have a cat named Willie that comes in and out of the Community Building at will, making it an unsafe place for allergic folks. sorry! There is train and bus service to White River Junction, Vermont (1 hour away). We are located off Rte. 118 in Dorchester, New Hampshire From Mass, NH, or Maine: Take I-93. Exit #26- Tenney Mt. Hwy. Rte 25 towards Rumney. Rte 25 to Rte 118. Take a Left on Rte. 118 at Millers Convenient Store. Drive 4 miles then turn right on Streeter Woods Rd. 1 mile to Farm From NY, Connecticut, Vermont, etc: Take I-91 to I-89. Cross into New Hampshire, 4th exit in NH (#17). Take US Rte 4 East to Enfield, West Canaan, Canaan. In Canaan, Bear Left on Rte. 118. Drive 11 miles. Take a Left on "Streeter Woods Rd". 1 mile to Farm |
