Our hostel operates sensibly like other Youth Hostels - travellers are responsible for making their beds, mixed dormitories are available, the ISIC card is accepted, etc. Moreover, we do not impose any restriction of days and our customers receive personal and courteous service. Take the airport shuttle, get off at the 1st stop and ask the driver of our mini-shuttle (free) to drop you off at our address.

From the Train Station

Take the Métro (subway), orange line, to the Sherbrooke station. Go out and walk east on Cherrier street towards the park; turn left on Sherbrooke till the intersection of Beaudry and Sherbrooke. We are right on the corner.

- Take the exit St-Laurent, 'centre-ville'.
- Go toward south and follow the indication about Centre-Ville.

Plateau 120 is located in the heart of Montreal and at the base of the mountain. This great location is just minutes away from St. Laurent, Montreal's Main Street and Montreal's two biggest parks, Mount Royal Park & Lafontaine Park.

Surrounded by Montreal's richest source of diversity, good food and good life are all close by.

All our Double Bed Private Ensuite are studio suites which have 1 double (full) bed to sleep 2 and are fully furnished for your comfort. They include everything you need to cook and enjoy a meal, and a private bathroom with bath and showers.

Our 4 Bed Private Ensuite is equipped like our regular studios, but with a seperate bedroom. The room has a large couch futon which can sleep 2 additional people if needed, making it comfortable even for 4 people.

Our 6 Bed Private Ensuite is located away from the complex, and is itself a 7 room private condo. It has 4 bedrooms, each with a queen or double bed and one with a single, to sleep 7 in all, with option to sleep more with prior notice. Upon making a booking for this unit, we will send you more detailed information. It has a fully equiped kitchen.

About the Neighbourhood

The Plateau was originally home to the working class; now through gentrification, it has been named one of the top 15?hippest? place in North America by Utne Reader. The Plateau is now home to many established and emerging artists, students, and professionals. The neighbourhood is characterized by its many styles of duplexes and triplexes, which are either Victorian style homes or buildings with repainted walls that makes it colourful and bohemian. Around the corner of our door steps and scattered throughout the neighbourhood, you will find homey caf?s, book shops, and various excellent ethnic eateries. The attitude of the inhabitants are laid back and free spirited.

The main streets of The Plateau, Mont Royal, Saint Laurent, and Saint Denis, are filled with many trendy boutiques of local designers, classy restaurants, and various art galleries and museums. Throughout the summer these streets are bustling with people who come to shop and walk and eat through the massive street sales.
Flanking the borders of The Plateau are two of Montreal?s biggest parks: Mont Royal Park and Lafontaine Park. Mont Royal Park is the center of Montreal (the name Montreal actually comes from slurring Mont Royal said in French) is a natural retreat for nature lovers, hikers, and home to various outdoor activities. In the summer, the base of the mountain hosts the tam-tam every Sunday, a gathering of musicians who play the African drums.

Walking distance from The Plateau is Montreal?s downtown, Chinatown, Latin Quarter, Gay Village, Old Montreal, and Old Port. Old Montreal, whose streets are still paved in stone, is the most historical area of Montreal. 19th century buildings are still found in the area as well as Montreal?s own Notre-Dame Basilica. Further to the south is Old Port, an important landmark to Quebecers, and now a tourist site filled with street artists, and in the summer has the greatest seats to watch Montreal?s annual fireworks competition.

1. The bus terminal is connected to the underground subway system, called the METRO. The stop there is called Berri-UQAM. To get to Plateau120, you would take the metro on the Green line, in the direction of Angrignon for 1 stop to get off at St. Laurent.
2. Right outside the St. Laurent Metro station is the stop for bus 55 going north. You would take that bus until you reach Rachel Street (ask the bus driver when to get off).
3. From there, turn right on Rachel E and walk to 120 Rachel E, on the corner of Bullion.

From Train Station (Gare Centreal):
1. From Gare Centrale (the main train station), you would have to look for the METRO (the Montreal underground subway) stop Bonaventure. They are connected together through the underground.
2. Take the Metro towards the direction Henri-Bourrassa until your reach Mont-Royal.
3. When you exit the metro, turn Left to walk toward the mountain (Mont Royal). Turn Left again on St. Denis, the second street.
4. Walk for two blocks, then turn righ on Rachel E. Walk again toward the mountaing until you see Plateau 120, address 120 Rachel E.

(they¹re like small logg cabins, if you reserve a double room with shared bathroom,

ATTENTION: THERE IS NO TWIN ROOM! It is a bug in the system that we can't fix right now. All private rooms are cabins with double beds. There is also one cabin with two double beds. PRICE IS PER PERSON, you have to reserve for each person to have a private room.

(even if you are alone, and you would like a private room you must pay for 2 people.)

Come enjoy the biggest private terrasse in Old Montreal, it¹s amazing. And if it is too hot on the terrase the entire dorm in air conditioned . There are board games, computers, a guitar and bongo drums (better known as tam-tams in Montrèal!).

NO HIDDEN FEES, and note that the 15% TAX IS INCLUDED, the LINEN also, as well as BREAKFAST. Plus there is FREE tea and coffee all the time, FREE WIRELESS internet access, FREE COMPUTER usage with internet access, FREE laundry and FREE telephone calls to anywhere in Canada and US!

Besides that, what makes us really appealing is our LOCATION. In the heart of Old Montrèal,within 5 minute walking distance to the Metro and Bus routes leading to anywhere else you might be wanting to go check out.

The dormitory is basically a huge sectioned loft. The bunks are made of big pieces of barn wood, and each bunk is semi-private, with a large air matress and a curtain.

We expect you to help keep the place clean and pleasant.

COUPLES: we know it¹s hard when you travel and stay in bunk beds all the time. So we have a mezzanine for you with double beds and curtains around each spot, which are quiiite nice! So if you would like to reserve a bed in the mezzanine, write a C before your name so we know we can put you there, and you¹ll be all set!

We are on the very southern part of the island, please locate the port and Old Montreal on the map, it will help you.

St. Vincent Street is one street West of Place Jacques-Cartier. The property is between Notre-Dame and St-Paul Street.

From Berri-Uqam station, you walk south until Notre-Dame and West until St-Vincent.

From the train station, walk East until St-Laurent and South until Notre-Dame and then East again until St-Vincent.

From the airport, a taxi is a 32$ flat rate. You can take the aerobus for 12.50 a person. City bus is 2.50 but it will take forever (about an hour and a half).

-From Aut. Bonaventure (10), take the exit Vieux-Port, drive underneath the highway. On Mills st. turn right, cross the bridge, take De La Commune st. until St-Laurent. Turn left. On Notre-Dame, turn right and on St-Vincent, turn right.

-From 720, take exit number 6. From other streets, just follow the signs for Vieux-Port, Vieux-Montréal or something. De La Commune street follows the seaway, we are near that. You have to go on Notre-Dame, wich is parallel and take St-Vincent down. It is near the town hall and the Pallais de Justice.
