It would be a good idea to spray the hostel or something. There were tons of cockroaches all around the room.. climbing our luggage, the walls, etc.. it was not comfortable to try to kill them everyday. Everything else was pretty good! Congratulations to the breakfast!

the staff were unavailable most of the time, some didnt even speak english which is inappropriate when running a hostel. it is completely overpriced for the lack of facilities it offers. the only good thing about this hostel was the breakfast. thoroughly disappointed. cockroaches everywhere.

It was nice, though the triple beds had a very bad mattress below, but we got some sleep finally. I wouldnt recommend this if you're allerigc cause there seemed to be some mold in the roof of our room. Otherwise it was nice, the cockroaches was friendly.. no really there was none, just a small bug in the room.. :)   Read Owner Comments

This is a lovely hostel, however for those travelling on their own and wanting to meet fellow travellers to go out with and party in NYC, then this isn't the place to come. The common area (i.e. kitchen) is small, and a number of the rooms are occupied by families and long term residents, so the traveller atmosphere is lost.

(please contact us in advance for special requests) The Wanderers Inn is located in the exclusive Upper East Side of Manhattan between Lexington and Third Avenues on 94th Street. The location makes this hostel the closest to the famous Museum Mile of New York. In this area you will find The Metropolitan Museum, The Solomon Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum and The International Center of Photography among many other attractions. Walk three blocks East and you will reach Central Park. The closest subway station is only two blocks away, on Lexington Ave. The area is also served by many buses. Although the hostel block is very quiet, you can find many services on Lexington and Third Avenues, such as a post office, a 24 hour pharmacy and supermarket, a police station, several banks with ATM machines, and various types of food available in the neighborhood's numerous restaurants and bars. This hostel is owned and operated by the General Manager of the Chelsea International Hostel, offering an excellent option for visitors to stay on the Upper East Side. Rooms in this cozy brownstone building have high ceilings and air-conditioning in the summer time. All private rooms can sleep up to two people and include a TV with a large selection of channels. Dormitory rooms have lockers for your valuables (bring your own pad lock). The larger dormitory rooms have their own bathroom. Linen and towels are provided free of charge.
